Dan Gale has been working in and around college athletics for the past 15 years. He began his career in intercollegiate athletics working directly for universities, spending time on the campuses of two major Division I institutions and a small Division II college. Upon graduation with a specialized collegiate sports focused Master’s Degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, he transitioned to the multimedia space, working for Tar Heel Sports Properties, a division of Learfield Sports. Gale spent the bulk of his career working in multimedia rights for CBS Collegiate Sports Properties where he started as an Account Executive at the U.S Air Force Academy followed by Director of Sales at Old Dominion University, where he was named the ‘CBSCSP Salesman of the Year. Gale was promoted to the role of East Region Sales Manager where he worked closely with the University of Maryland, Towson University and Old Dominion University to increase sales and build sales teams. Gale was additionally tasked with growing new institutional multimedia rights partnerships for CBS Collegiate Sports Properties.
Since his departure from CBS, Gale has worked with sports and entertainment companies in the technology and ticketing space, to aid growth of their initiatives within the collegiate vertical. During this time, Gale has focused on technological upgrades of stadiums with Signalshare, assisted colleges and universities with ticket sales through the secondary market in his leadership role at Vivid Seats and helped Sportsdigita expand their product into the collegiate space. Gale helped these technology leaders partner with institutions such as Arizona State University, University of Louisville, Washington State University, University of Mississippi, Mississippi State University, University of Cincinnati, University of Notre Dame, University of Tennessee, Clemson University, East Carolina University and more!
He offers a unique perspective to organizations as he has been on both sides of the negotiating table. He has helped broker multi-million dollar corporate partnerships, naming rights, over $100 million in multimedia rights contracts on behalf of universities, numerous apparel and complex media partnerships, comprehensive secondary ticket arrangements and seven figure gift agreements.
In addition to leading the growth of Leona Marketing Group, he is currently an expert contributor on sponsorship agreements for COLLEGEAD, a member of the Athletes of Valor Advisory Board, a volunteer for Best Buddies International, husband to Stephanie (Clarkson) Gale and father to Katherine Mae.
A well respected veteran of the collegiate sports industry and an apparel expert, Sean Sullivan has contracted to join the Leona Marketing Group as a Senior Consultant. Sean's focus is on assisting clients with negotiations and structuring of department wide apparel agreements. Sean brings over twenty-five years of experience in the apparel industry, most recently from his role as Director of College Partnerships at Under Armour.
During Sean's fifteen-year tenure at Under Armour, revenue and relationships from the collegiate space grew exponentially. Sean was an integral factor in helping Under Armour have a record twelve (12) teams in the 2017 NCAA tournament, with many of those schools signed directly by Sean or his team. Prior to Under Armour, Sean worked for Reebok in their collegiate division helping to outfit many colleges and developing partnerships across many different verticals.
